SLOW COOKED BEEF POUTINE
Delight your guests with Canada’s classic comfort food by serving this hearty and delicious dish for a meal or party snack.
Ingredients
- 1 pound Double Red 1904® Flat Iron Strips
- 1 white onion; diced
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch or flour for thickening
- 6 ounces white cheese curds
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley; chopped
- 1 24 ounce bag of French fries
Instructions
- Season flat iron strips with salt and pepper, and place in a slow cooker along with beef stock for 6-8 hours.
- Cook French fries according to package directions and keep warm.
- Whisk together water and cornstarch or flour and then stir into broth and beef mixture until mixture becomes thickened and forms a gravy.
- Season fries to taste, and place in a serving dish topped with beef and gravy mixture and cheese curds.
- Sprinkle fresh parsley on top if desired.
